New Music from Ed Sheeran coming in 2017

It turns out that mysterious blue shade that flooded his social media accounts a couple of weeks ago was, indeed, a clue: Ed Sheeran is finally putting new music out, and he broke his silence on Twitter and Instagram to share the news with his fans.

Back in 2015, Sheeran quit social media, saying that he was stepping away from his phone, and that his third album was not only in the works, but “the best thing [he] has made thus far.”

His sole digital update in 2016 was that blue burst, and then, bam! The calendar flipped to 2017 and Sheeran gave us an update: New sounds are ready for the public, and he’ll be dropping the new tune (or tunes?) on Friday, January 6.

Flowers in the Dirt is the tenth release in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.

Flowers in the Dirt is the tenth release in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection. The multi-disc edition of the 1989 album will be released on March 24.

Flowers in the Dirt was the eighth solo album from McCartney and was seen as a return to quality after a number of less than stellar releases. Four of the tracks on the album were co-written with Elvis Costello (listed under his real name, Declan MacManus) who also sang with Paul on the track You Want Her, Too. Also appearing on the album was David Gilmour on the track We Got Married.

The album went to number 1 on the U.K. Albums chart, 18 in Australia and 21 in the U.S.

The original 13-track album was remastered at Abbey Road Studios. Added for the deluxe edition are 18 tracks across two discs with demos for the album. Paul said “The demos are red hot off the skillet and that’s why we wanted to include them on this boxed set. What’s great about these songs is that they’ve just been written. So there’s nothing more hot off the skillet as I say. So that was the kind of great instant thing about them. I hadn’t listened to them in ages but when I did I knew we had to put them out. We made a little tape of them and sent them to Elvis, who loved them too. We said we should put out an EP or something and now the moment’s finally arrived.”

Robian–Leaving it all behind–Top Lyric Highlight

Singer/songwriter Robian ( a.k.a Robert Ian Pratt ) was born in Hinckley, Leicestershire UK but is now based in Spain’s Costa Del Sol.

Robian started writing songs at the age of 14 and had formed his own band by the age of 16 years being influenced by acts like David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Supertramp , Yes, Cat Stevens, The Who and Mick Jagger and the Stones.

At the age of 19 Robian started racing motorbikes and in the mid 1980’s with the help of sponsorship from Christian Dior and competed in The World Championship 500cc Grands Prix  now known as Moto GP. Robian retired from motorbike racing in 1990 and started racing Formula 3 cars in Spain and the UK but then retired from all forms of motorsport in 2006.

Robian began writing songs and in 2006 influenced by his love for country music he recorded 16 songs in a Nashville, Tennessee recording studio located on the famous Music Row in Nashville.

He says “The CEO of the company came down to talk to me  and gave me a lot of advice and words of encouragement for my songwriting” and the new material was born.

Robian has originally formed a band called “Robain and the Meerkats” but says “I did have my own band about 10 years ago and that’s when I came up with the name of the band ‘Robian and the Meerkats’  but a couple of years later the TV commercials for ‘comparethemarket.com’ who started using meerkats in their TV adverts started and so I decided to go solo”.

The brand new album ‘Tomorrow Will Be Our Day’ was produced by David Robinson at Paramount studios, Nashville and features the new single ‘Leaving It All Behind’.

LYRICS FEATURE

You’re like a dog with a bone,
you wont leave me alone
You’re always on my case
You’re like a cat with a mouse
Running round the house
Keeping me in my place
I’ve had enough, I’m getting out
I’ve got my key, no need to shout
I’m going to get my motor running
Twist the throttle open wide
I guess I had it coming
With no place left to hide
My head is really thumping
With no one on myside
I’m leaving it, I’m leaving it
I’m leaving it all behind
I’m leaving it, I’m leaving it
I’m leaving it all behind
You’re like a snake with a rat
If you can swallow that
Your tongue is full of venom
You’re like a pack of hounds
Hunting the foxes down
You’re always gonna get them
I have enough, you treat me rough
I’m gonna leave it’s not a bluff
I’m going to get my motor running
Twist the throttle open wide
I guess I had it coming
With no place left to hide
My head is really thumping
With no one on my side
I’m leaving it, I’m leaving it
I’m leaving it all behind
I’m leaving it, I’m leaving it
I’m leaving it all behind.
Chorus repeated.

Singer and poet Leonard Cohen has died, aged 82.

lenco

Singer and poet Leonard Cohen has died, aged 82.

The sad news, reported on the Bird on a Wire singer’s Facebook page, comes just weeks after the beloved Canadian star told the New Yorker magazine he was "ready to die" in an interview.

He told the publication, "I don’t think I’ll be able to finish those songs (I’m working on). Maybe, who knows? And maybe I’ll get a second wind, I don’t know. But I don’t dare attach myself to a spiritual strategy. I don’t dare do that.

"I’ve got some work to do. Take care of business. I am ready to die. I hope it’s not too uncomfortable. That’s about it for me."

Cohen clarified his remarks days later, while promoting his new album You Want It Darker, explaining he was speaking philosophically.

The Everybody Knows singer hosted a listening session for his new album in Los Angeles on 13 October (16) and addressed reports he was dying, stating, "I said I was ready to die recently and I think I was exaggerating. I’ve always been into self-dramatisation. I intend to live forever."

A post on his Facebook page on Thursday evening (10Nov16) reads: "It is with profound sorrow we report that legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away. We have lost one of music’s most revered and prolific visionaries."

There were no details about the cause of Cohen’s death. A memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later date, according to the announcement.

The Montreal-born singer, who was dubbed "the high priest of pathos" was a singer, songwriter, poet and legendary ladies man. His hits also included Suzanne, I’m Your Man, and Hallelujah. You Want It Darker was his 14th album.

Bruno Mars brands Adele a "diva with attitude"

adbrun

Bruno Mars has labelled collaborator Adele a "diva with attitude".

The pair teamed up on song All I Ask for Adele’s most recent album 25. While the tune was a hit with fans, Bruno opened up about the challenging recording process during an interview on WTKU radio show Cubby and Carolina in the Morning on Tuesday (25Oct16).

“She walks into the studio, she’s got all this attitude, she’s a diva, she’s like, ‘I don’t want to do this. I don’t like that,’” Bruno shared. “And then as soon as we hit a couple chords that she liked, we started rolling, and that’s where we got that song from."

Bruno was quick to clarify his comments, insisting that working with the 28-year-old singer was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“She was singing in the booth and I’m not exaggerating at all, and the water was vibrating – like that scene in Jurassic Park,” he gushed. "She’s got some pipes on her, and she’s just a superstar."

As well as being a successful singer in his own right, Bruno has written a huge amount of songs for his peers – including CeeLo Green’s F**k (Forget) You and Justin Bieber’s Love Me.

He may have joined forces with some of the music industry’s biggest names but there are still some stars he would like to team up with in the future.

“I haven’t done a song with Beyonce,” he mused, before revealing Rihanna and Britney Spears as dream duet partners, adding: "Anyone who wants to work, come on down!"

One of the first times Adele performed All I Ask was during a taped concert in New York in December (15). However, she struggled to sing the track to her usual standard, telling the audience the recent surgery on her vocal cords had altered her vocal range.

"It is, it’s f***ing, it’s really hard to sing. I had vocal surgery and then suddenly I could sing higher, I could sing lower, I could do whatever you wanted me to do," she said. "As soon as I’m in front of you lot, I just f**k myself."

Pop star Bruno Mars will ring in 2017 in Las Vegas as part of a new residency deal.

pruno

Pop star Bruno Mars will ring in 2017 in Las Vegas as part of a new residency deal.

The Uptown Funk hitmaker has signed a partnership with bosses at MGM Resorts International for a series of concerts at their venues over the next two years, and he’ll kick off his exclusive deal by performing at Maryland’s MGM National Harbor on 27 December (16), days after the venue’s grand opening.

He will then stage a pair of shows at the new Park Theater at the Monte Carlo hotel and casino in Sin City on 30 and 31 December (16), and return in March (17) for a string of dates.

"Bruno is among the most talented performers in the world and we are excited to start a long-term relationship with him across our industry-leading portfolio of entertainment venues," Bill Hornbuckle, president of MGM Resorts International, writes in a statement issued to Entertainment Tonight.

"There is no stronger launching pad for a new venue than for Bruno Mars to be among the first to grace its stage, and we get to do it twice, an amazing beginning to a multi-year partnership."

Although Bruno’s concert deal won’t be a traditional residency, he joins the likes of Celine Dion, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez, who have all become Vegas regulars in recent years.

The news emerges three days after Bruno debuted the video for his new single 24K Magic, and announced plans to release an album of the same name on 18 November (16).

It will be Bruno’s third studio album, the follow-up to 2012’s Unorthodox Jukebox.
