Time Cero are a rock/alternative/metal band based in Lima, Peru and fronted by their creator Carlos Li Carrillo who moved to Boston USA when he was 18 years old. During his teenage years in Lima, Peru in the mid 80’s, Carlos was the bass player and co-writer of Thrash Metal band “Curriculum Mortis”. Their first material was recently released on a U.S. vinyl edition and sold out 1000+ copies in the first year of release.

During the early 90’s Carlos was in the Progressive Rock band called ‘Avispon Verde’ and recorded 2 records while gigging regularly across the Lima alternative rock scene. In the late 90’s Carlos relocated to Hong Kong where he was influenced by numerous music genres and sounds from different parts of the world delving into digital recording and electronic sounds.

In 2001 while Carlos was travelling around the world, he created Novalima an Electronic collective band. The band mixed different grooves and singers from the around the world with Afroperuvian vocals and percussions.

Novalima became a big success with its first self-titled album on the Lima music scene and they soon signed their ” Afro” album with Mr. Bongo Records based in the U.K.

The song Machete was licensed to the world famous Robert Rodriguez “Machete” movie starring Danny Trejo and Robert De Niro. Later on Novalima released the album Coba Coba which was nominated for the 10th Latin Grammy as Best Alternative Record.
It was after producing one more album in his previous band that Carlos decided to move into different directions and started his current solo project called Time Cero.

Adreyn–Demarrer

Alt Demarrer cover

Countless artists battle to carve  define or establish their own musical identity. For some  it’s a strenuous process of experimenting with various musical styles in an attempt to stumble upon something that “fits”.   From the upcoming release of his debut E.P. “Demarrer”  spearheaded by the singles “Anthem” and “Tomorrow” what is apparent about Adreyn Cash is that he is an artist that is not only fully aware of his musical identity  but in full  natural command of it.

With its routes dug deep within soul music  Adreyn Cash’s sound consists of the smooth mixture of emotion and perhaps even fear projecting music that is alternative: dark but by no means depressing. He said ” I create music that people can listen and relate to  but also music that reaches out to the person within  the one whom we hide from the masses, my music is the voice for the hidden us.

Currently living in London but originally from Kingston, Jamaica (of Taino descent), growing up  Adreyn found himself in and around music from an early age. A strong musical heritage consisting of reggae artists RDX, Eric Donaldson and growing up in Church with MNEK, the all-important presence of his mother meant that becoming a musician himself was something he was destined to do.

It wasn’t until the age of 16 however that he started taking his music seriously upon which  he was able to flourish at an array of opportunities. He championed renditions of songs such as John Legend’s “Ordinary People” at weddings, birthdays and secondary school performances that on one performance included the Mayor and Mayoress of his borough amongst the delighted audience. Excitement for him as a musician was growing. “The belief was that once he gets into the industry there will be no stopping him”- Mayor of the London Borough of Bromley.

With the acknowledgment of him as a musician increasing, he began playing bigger events for an expanded fan-base that continued to grow ever stronger. This ultimately culminated into an early highlight of his career: performing at the Indig02 in December 2009.   The freedom to write  produce and sing his own music started the process of writing the demo “Slow Motion” in 2010.

Staying true to emotions inspiring his music “Slow Motion” was recorded to capture a moment in his life where he wished he could dissect his life piece-by-piece to see if he would change anything. Lyrics such as “I’m losing all emotion in my heart, what’s happening? Where do I even start? and the simple and slow harmonious beat consisting of steady string chords and decisive piano chords, gave a glimpse of Adreyn Cash at an embryonic stage as an artist: thoughtful, deep rhythms and vocals.

With an assortment of successful live performances to his name, his attention turned to creating “Demarrer” his first full length EP. The E.P was produced by Rushard Allwood, Jude Gyamfi-Osew Tyrell, Paul Segun Olowu at Allwood’s Studios in South London.

New Music from Ed Sheeran coming in 2017

It turns out that mysterious blue shade that flooded his social media accounts a couple of weeks ago was, indeed, a clue: Ed Sheeran is finally putting new music out, and he broke his silence on Twitter and Instagram to share the news with his fans.

Back in 2015, Sheeran quit social media, saying that he was stepping away from his phone, and that his third album was not only in the works, but “the best thing [he] has made thus far.”

His sole digital update in 2016 was that blue burst, and then, bam! The calendar flipped to 2017 and Sheeran gave us an update: New sounds are ready for the public, and he’ll be dropping the new tune (or tunes?) on Friday, January 6.

Adele once turned up at British presenter Alan Carr’s house "inconsolable" over an ex-boyfriend.

alde

Adele once turned up at British presenter Alan Carr’s house "inconsolable" over an ex-boyfriend.

The Rolling in the Deep singer is close pals with the presenter, and he has revealed that while she achieved global success with her album 21, Adele was still "cut up" about her ex-boyfriend and once stayed with Alan for days after turning up at his house "completely inconsolable" over the split.

"Adele stayed with me when she was at her lowest ebb," Alan writes in his book Alanatomy, which has been serialised in The Sun newspaper. "The album 21 had just taken the world by storm but you would never have thought it with how miserable she was."

Alan offered her his spare room for a rest and would leave tea and sandwiches outside the door but she didn’t surface for days, leading Alan to worry she had passed away.

"She was quiet as a mouse, so quiet in fact we forgot she was up there, and it was only after a couple of days that I realised we hadn’t seen her or heard a peep out of her," he explained.

Alan’s now-fiancee Paul Drayton suggested they check on her but the presenter was concerned about what he would find.

"My brain went into overdrive," he revealed. "First things first, we had to check whether she was dead after all. Paul and I walked up the two flights of stairs and there she was sound asleep and, thankfully, alive."

Alan and Paul got engaged during a recent holiday in Indonesia and he has already asked Adele to be his bridesmaid. He also hopes she will sing her hit Someone Like You at the ceremony.

Adele has since got over her heartbreak and has been dating Simon Konecki since 2011. They have a three-year-old son named Angelo.

STONE JETS RELEASE TRIPPY MUSIC VIDEO

“Beauty of style and harmony and grace and good rhythm depend on simplicity.” – Plato

It’s this philosophy of keeping things simple that makes the music produced by Cape Town band Stone Jets, fresh and unique, but also relatable. Their latest animated music video ‘Something Good’ reflects this perfectly as well with its quirky, simplistic animation.

Watch ‘Something Good’ music video here: https://goo.gl/Stxupa

The animated video was done by talented film student, Leah Blem.

The band, with Manfred Klose on guitars and Given Nkanyane on vocals and bass and Johan Pretorius on drums, describe their music as “Afro pop rock”, but, as is the case with many musicians, their sound has evolved as they have.

On the inspiration for this music video, frontman Given explains, “The war between the mind and heart inspires will. The will to choose a side and find peace. To call it a battle would be insane, it is just something good”.

‘Something Good’ can currently be heard playing on various national and local stations including Radio Sonder Grense, Groot FM, Radio Laeveld, SFM Streek, Kosmos Stereo, Maties FM, Kovsie FM, and UCT radio among others.

Stone Jets are jet-setting on a trajectory to becoming one of South Africa’s most beloved acts. In the meantime fans can get ready to experience their Cape Town EP launch next month.

More details on this to be released soon.

Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has donated $1 million to his alma mater Howard University.

sdi

Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has donated $1 million (£765,000) to his alma mater Howard University.

The 46-year-old rapper pledged the amount during his concert at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. as part of his Bad Boy reunion tour on Thursday night (22Sep16).

After bringing a giant check onto the stage, Combs told the crowd that he had decided to make the sizeable donation to help "anybody who can’t pay off their financial aid.”

In a statement, Combs further explained that the money will be used to support The Sean Combs Scholarship Fund, which will award scholarships to select undergraduate business majors starting at Howard next autumn (17).

As well as the financial aid they will receive, the lucky scholarship recipients will also be given summer internships at either Bad Boy Entertainment or Revolt Media & TV, and will have a mentor from Combs Enterprises to help them on their journey.

“I was blessed to receive a great education from Howard University – one of the best schools in the world – and it helped to fuel my success in business and life," Combs said in a statement. "This scholarship will make it possible for the next generation of leaders to pursue their dreams and achieve greatness."

Combs first attended Howard University for two years, but dropped out in 1990 before completing his education. He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from the institution in 2014 and also delivered the school’s commencement address before he was given the honour.

Speaking to the crowd in 2014, Combs told them: "Ain’t no homecoming like a Howard homecoming, and it feels so good to be home! Howard University didn’t just change my life – it entered my soul, my heart, my being and my spirit. Nobody is going to invite you to the front of the line, you got to push your way to the front of the line."
