Flowers in the Dirt is the tenth release in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.

Flowers in the Dirt is the tenth release in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection. The multi-disc edition of the 1989 album will be released on March 24.

Flowers in the Dirt was the eighth solo album from McCartney and was seen as a return to quality after a number of less than stellar releases. Four of the tracks on the album were co-written with Elvis Costello (listed under his real name, Declan MacManus) who also sang with Paul on the track You Want Her, Too. Also appearing on the album was David Gilmour on the track We Got Married.

The album went to number 1 on the U.K. Albums chart, 18 in Australia and 21 in the U.S.

The original 13-track album was remastered at Abbey Road Studios. Added for the deluxe edition are 18 tracks across two discs with demos for the album. Paul said “The demos are red hot off the skillet and that’s why we wanted to include them on this boxed set. What’s great about these songs is that they’ve just been written. So there’s nothing more hot off the skillet as I say. So that was the kind of great instant thing about them. I hadn’t listened to them in ages but when I did I knew we had to put them out. We made a little tape of them and sent them to Elvis, who loved them too. We said we should put out an EP or something and now the moment’s finally arrived.”

Wills and the Willing–Dream in Colour

Ian Wills has always had somewhat of a ‘revolving door policy’ on his critically acclaimed band Wills & The Willing. Each of his first two albums featured an almost entirely different line-up, including Jessie Wood (Reef), Rachel Wood (Cirque de Soleil), and guest vocals from the likes of Tom McRae., Harry Collier, & Liane Carrol. Now with a brand new line-up and a bigger, more accessible sound for his third album ‘Dream In Colour’; Wills finally believes that he has settled on a definitive band line-up and has an inspiring set of new songs that will help take the band to a much wider audience.

“BUTTERFLIES”

Inspired by the town of Wotton Bassett and the tearful repatriations, the first single ‘Butterflies’ relies heavily on the musical skills of new full-time ‘Willing’ members Sean Genockey , Charlie Morton and John Hogg (Moke, Rich Robinson, Roger Daltrey). You can not fail to be moved by the cinematic tear stained lyrics that comes from the sword like pen of Wills, coupled with its soaring chorus and emotive production.

“DREAM IN COLOUR”

Iam Wills and the Willing artwork

Sean is very much on the cutting edge of Indie music , in the past decade he has produced some of the best new music to come out of the UK-his guitar playing skills are in high demand- Sean has just finished playing and recording guitars on the new album by (Roger Daltrey)

John spent the late Summer and Autumn of 2015 touring with (Rich Robinson- ex Black Crowes) – culminating in John sharing a stage in Seattle with ( Rich, Jimmy Page and members of Nirvana, Soundgarden & Paul Rodgers)

Ian’s forthcoming book "Nothing To Lose", published by New Haven Publishing, is scheduled for Worldwide release on September 26th, 2016.

THE STORY

Ian Wills released his first commercial recording in 2004, when he collaborated with the legendary drummer and producer (Trevor Morais), under the name of "Hundred & 3" – Ian released the track "HIV" on One Little Indian, (Bjork) label. "HIV" featured the late (Alvin Lee) playing guitar riffs, and

(Jean Alain Roussel),  who is  renowned for his work with ( Cat Stevens, Bob Marley, Sting, Vangelis) on keyboards.

In late 2004 Ian formed Wills & The Willing and it was in October of 2005 that Janice Long started to champion the band, when she  played the single "21st Century Love Song" on her highly regarded and popular Radio 2 program. By the Summer of 2006, the band was enjoying strong national radio and media support, and was playing at festivals across the UK, including the much loved and highly respected Guilfest. The highlight for Ian, whilst on the second series of gigs, was in New York, when he had the privilege of sharing a radio show with the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Legend ( Les Paul), who announced, live on air, that the lyrics of "21st Century Love Song" were among his favourite in recent times.

In 2007, Ian reformed his band, Wills & The Willing, bringing in musicians and friends that he had long admired to record the second album “Heroes & Villains”- the new line up consisted of Ian, Sean Genockey and Charlie Morton, plus part time members The Adj & John Tills, ex Kubb. They released their first single "Skin", which featured Didier Drogba and Michael Essien. "Skin" was used as part of the football anti racist "Kick It Out" Campaign. Wills & The Willing went on to release the second single "Lipstick" to critical acclaim in 2008, featuring the Mercury Prize nominated (Tom McRae) .

Wills & The Willing went back on the road with the new line up in anticipation of the release of "Heroes And Villains"- they played Guilfest, the Isle of Wight music Festival, The Royal Albert Hall and live sessions at Radio 2. Sadly, just as they were due to embark on a full UK tour, calamity struck as Ian was rushed to hospital and spent two years in  and out of hospital during his recovery process – which resulted in "Heroes And Villains" not being commercially released.

Plugging Music introduces upcoming album Circadia by Thirteen Collective

Thirteen Being is a collaborative project set up and run by Vincent Kane aka Vin100 bringing together his friends’ musical skills.

Starting out in London 2008 as Being, Vincent brought together friends who were musicians, DJs, producers and nightclub event organisers to craft a style electronica, which flows from dance dream and they call Inner-Space-Age.

The name Being was inspired during a long studio session that ended in drawing symmetrical patterns on white label records. This transformed into Thirteen Being to mark the move away from city life to the West Country in 2013, where they are currently based.

Vincent grew up surrounded by psychedelic rock during and graduated into enjoying Drum and Bass, Acid-House, Techno and Jungle.

In the 1990s as a teenager, Vincent loved DJing and promoting club nights. His Thirteen Being collaborators include soundscape producer Hector Hernandez with stage name Hektagon, instrumental knowledge from David Clark, technological input from Marcus Oaten and Breaks producer, DJ at Fabric, writer and arranger Mark Ford, known as Merka.

Doors were opened for Vincent after meeting Ambient House pioneers The Orb in the late 1990s and their Alex Paterson has continued to be inspiration and support.

This alliance led to Vincent co-writing The Orb’s track 2026, which is on their album Orbsessions Volume 2 with remixes by Vin100 and Being. Tracks have been licensed for compilation CDs and Screen Shot 2016-03-16 at 12.56.50Vincent has performed DJ slots with Alex Paterson on Internet radio and Vincent was the DJ support at many of The Orb’s London gigs, mixing in Being recordings with experimental demo material.

Thirteen Being’s debut album Circadia has taken eight years to piece together the jigsaw puzzle of their story so far.

Circadia is described as an exploration of life on Earth, the spiralling Sun and Moon weaving the threads of time and space, waking dreamers, day walkers and night fliers dancing on the cutting edge of consciousness as we make our own way through the wilderness of modern life.

The 8-track Circadia is an album written by Vincent Kane and Hector Hernandez, produced and mixed by Vincent Kane at Pushin Plastic studio and mastered by Vin100 and Merka.

The record label Pushin Plastic started in 2004 as a partner project for the Pushin Plastic club nights in East London, run by Vincent Kane and featuring the musical works of friends and colleagues. Pushin Plastic are selling a limited (one of 375) run of clear blue plastic vinyl. Click on Discogs link below.

Thirteen Being’s debut album Circadia will be released worldwide on Pushin Plastic on 25 April 2016 with distribution from Universal Music Operations.
